A is taking action to give two dogs a second chance at life.
Virginia Beach woman, Erinn saw that twelve dogs at the Duplin County Animal Services shelter were on a list to be euthanized.
“I called and said, ‘Have any of them been grabbed by a rescue yet?’ 10 of them had been, leaving two.”
The two remaining dogs were Bobo and Mable. Bobo is a 3-year-old lab mix and Mable is a less than 12-month-old shepherd mix.
Because Erinn lives in a townhouse, has a dog of her own, and is allergic to dogs that shed, she knew she could not adopt them herself, so she tried to get the word out on her Facebook page.
When that did not work, she got in her car.
“I felt like I had enough tools and resources and I know people in animal rescue, our dog came from the Virginia Beach SPCA,” she says. ” It became the main focus and my husband was very supportive and said ‘I understand go get them,’ so we have them, and it’s great.”
For more information on adopting Bobo or Mable after November 24th, call the Norfolk SPCA at 757-622-3319.
“They are really wonderful dogs.”
